The Pink Elephant is an iconic landmark of Elephant and Castle, South London. Originally displayed outside the old Elephant & Castle shopping centre, the much loved pink sculpture became a familiar sight to generations of Londoners. Today, it has a new home near Elephant Park, opposite Elephant & Castle railway station.
We were drawn to its bold shape and unmistakable colour, and our illustration celebrates this playful piece of Elephant & Castle history. The original artwork was painted in watercolour and gouache.
